Kamala Harris visited the presidential election headquarters earlier this week to close the event for the sound of Beyonce’s song “Freedom.”

- President Trump accused Beyoncé of accepting $11 million in support of Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
- This claim is unfounded and there is no evidence from the Federal Election Commission or other sources.
- Beyoncé publicly endorsed Harris in the Larry, allowing her campaign to use the song “Freedom,” but her mother refused to pay for approval.
- Harris’ campaign paid Beyoncé’s company $165,000 to produce the event.
President Donald Trump has accused former Vice President Kamala Harris of paying Beyoncé Knowles Carter $11 million for his “illegal” support in the 2024 presidential election.
In a fiery rant posted to Truth Social on May 19, Trump said he plans to seek a “major investigation” into the support of Harris celebrities, including Bruce Springsteen, Oprah Winfrey and Beyoncé. He claimed that Beyoncé had walked on stage at Harris’ rally in Houston and received $11 million to show her support.
The president did not cite the source of this information. The Federal Election Commission does not have a record of $11 million payments from Harris’ campaign to Beyoncé.
Here’s what you need to know about Beyoncé’s Harris support:
Beyoncé showed support for Harris through her presidential campaign
In October 2024, Beyoncé declared her support, officially supporting Harris, and supported Larry, focusing on the abortion rights in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston. She was joined on stage by longtime friend singer and actress Kelly Roland.
During the rally, Beyoncé spoke to the crowd.
“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother,” she said. “Your freedom is your God-given right, your human rights.”
A few months ago, Beyoncé and her family showed support for the presidential candidate in other ways. Shortly after President Joe Biden finished his re-election bid, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, quickly supported Harris for the president.
Beyoncé also cleared her use of her 2016 song “Freedom” for Harris in 2016, and the song became the song of the former Vice President’s official campaign through the president’s bid.
Before the summer, Harris attended Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” concert just outside of Washington after the superstar gave him tickets.
Has Beyoncé received $11 million from Harris’ campaign?
With no evidence of a $11 million payment, it is unclear where Trump got the figure. The Federal Election Commission has shown that Harris’ campaign paid Parkwood Production Media (Beyoncé’s entertainment company) $165,000 for “producing campaign events” a few weeks after the rally.
The campaign also paid $1 million to Winfrey’s own Harpo Productions after hosting a Harris star-studded town hall event.
“I didn’t have any personal fees,” Winfrey said in an Instagram video. “But the people who worked on it had to be paid, and it was the end of the story.”
Tina Knowles denied that Beyoncé was paid to support Harris
In November 2024, Knowles posted on Instagram claiming that the singer had been paid millions to support Harris. In a long Instagram post she wrote:
“The lie is that Beyoncé was paid $10 million to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris. In fact, Beyoncé had not received a penny to speak at a rally for presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The power of the Vice President!”
Trump claims that Beyoncé went out to “boo loudly” at the rally, but that’s not true.
In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “News reports show Beyoncé is paid $11,000,000 for walking on stage and will immediately support Kamala and boo loudly to avoid performing.
However, the singer was not booed at the rally.
Beyoncé is currently in the middle of a Rodeo Chitlin Circuit tour with Cowboy Carter. It is a spectacle filled with fashion, a variety of musical genres, especially country music and political commentary. The song “Freedom” is one of the songs on a huge set list.
The nine-city tour will host the grand finale in Las Vegas on July 26th, spanning the US and Europe.
