Stephen Colbert fights back with Paramount, while Trump sails around the “Late Show” axis
Stephen Colbert blows up Paramount and President Donald Trump after the cancellation of the “Late Show.”
President Donald Trump is once again aiming for his usual late-night enemy.
“The word, and it’s a strong word, Jimmy Kimmel goes to a deep late night sweepstakes with neighbors adjacent to each other. Soon after that, (Jimmy) Fallon will go away,” the president wrote in a post on July 22nd on True Society. These were people who had no talent and in all cases were paid millions of dollars to destroy what was once a great television. It’s really good to see them go and I hope it played a big role in it! ”
Fallon’s contract with NBCuniversal will keep him in the network until 2028. Kimmel extended his contract in 2022 throughout his current 23rd season.
Kimmel, Fallon and the second-term president have been at odds for years. Kimmel, who recently corroded Trump’s immigrant raid in Los Angeles, praised Trump’s rage after reading the president’s criticism of hosting skills during the 2024 Oscar TV broadcast.
When Trump won the 2024 presidential election, Fallon joked, “America has decided to come back with a crazy excuse.”
USA Today contacted representatives for “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” For comments.
Stephen Colbert fought back at Trump’s celebration
Trump’s comments come days after Trump celebrated his cancellation of the “Late Show.”
Colbert returned to the president’s comments in the “Late Show” monologue on July 21.
“What a dare, teacher? Could a proud man make the next satirical wit? The three-word message was captured via a “elder cam” zoomed into the host’s face.
While he chanted the names of the crowd, Colbert read the following sentence in a Trump social media post:
Colbert replied: “No, absolutely not, Kimmel. I am a martian. There is only one room on this cross. And I have to tell you, it’s great here. I can see your home!”
The rest of Trump’s posts were calling for Fallon as the president wrote that “Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them, including the NBC idiot who ruined the great “Tonight’s Show” of the past.
