The fifth week of the 2025 college football season was a treat for fans.

This matchup ranked four different teams ranked within the top 25 of the US LBM Coach Poll in week 5, with team interests high early in the season and a large impact on many college football playoffs.

With six upsets and many other close calls, the fifth week schedule was not disappointing.

The biggest winner of the week is probably Oregon, No. 5, with a 30-24 double-overtime victory on the roads in No. 2 Pennsylvania. Ducks can trade spots with the Nittany Lions in the latest rankings. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, Illinois, No. 22, knocked out No. 22 USC 34-32 in Week 4 with a field goal.

The SEC continued to cannibalize on No. 16 Georgia 24-21 with knocking off No. 3 Georgia 24-21 in Athens, Georgia, knocking off No. 16 Alabama, 24-19 win on No. 16 Ole Miss. Rebels are more likely to make a big jump in the poll as Alabama has zero losses.

The biggest loser of the week could be Florida’s number eighth. The Seminoles fell 46-38 with double overtime to Virginia on the road on Friday, September 26th. Mike Nobel and FSU are 1-8 in the last nine ACC games of the past two seasons.

No. 9 Texas A&M (Auburn), No. 11 Indiana (Iowa), No. 15 Tennessee (Mississippi), No. 17 Georgia Institute of Technology (Wake Forest), No. 24BYU (Colorado) all stopped bidding that was deeply upset by an unranked enemy. No. 6 Miami, No. 7Texas, No. 10Oklahoma, No. 14Texas Tech, and No. 18 Michigan were one of the top 25 teams in goodbye.

Find out how the 5th week of college football game affected the team in the US LBM coach polls and AP Top 25 rankings in Week 6.
