March Madness Bracket Number 1 Seed Race Update
The battle for the No. 1 seed is intensifying. Arizona, Duke, and Michigan are in the lead, but UW and Houston aren’t backing down.
The 2025-26 men’s college basketball regular season will soon enter its final week.
As the calendar switches to March, all eyes are on who can win this season’s national championship. Defending national champion Florida State appears poised to win back-to-back titles, while No. 1 Duke, Michigan State and Arizona State are among the favorites.
However, the field extends beyond these four teams. There are several other programs that have a legitimate chance to hoist a trophy this season.
Here are the top 20 teams with the best chance of winning the national championship.

Despite losing to Duke last weekend, Michigan is the favorite to win the national championship this season with +325 odds. However, the Blue Devils are a close second (+375), with Arizona (+425) and Houston (+950) close behind.
Defending national champion Florida is looking to repeat just as UW did (the Huskies won it all in 2023 and 2024). The Gators could join UCLA as the only programs to ever win back-to-back championships.
