Hours after President Trump received a full pardon for Julie and Todd Chrisley, the couple were released from their respective prisons.

According to an FBP spokesman, the Federal Prisons Bureau Public Relations Office said in a separate statement issued to USA Today on May 28th, Todd was “released” from federal prisons in Florida. An hour later, the agency announced that Julie had been released from federal custody in Lexington, Kentucky.

The family’s legal representatives said in a statement that both Kreis were on their “going back to Nashville.”

Earlier that day, the president signed a paperwork that would grant a full pardon to the “Chrisley Knowledge Best” star. The couple, who documented their family life on the US Network Reality Show, have been in prison since January 2023 and served for up to 10 years using fraudulent loans to fraudulent community banks in Georgia.

Their 2022 conviction also found them guilty of fraudulent IRS and committing tax evasion. Julie Chrisley was further convicted of justice and obstructing wire fraud.

On May 27, Trump called Savannah Chrisley, the middle daughter of Chrisley, to let her parents know that they are “intentionally free and clean and hopefully they can do it by tomorrow.”

Speaking at the Republican National Convention in July and actively defending her parents’ release, Savannah celebrated the news in a video she posted to Instagram on May 27th, and announced she was preparing to return home.

“We’ve put our clothes together for Mom and Dad and put their rooms upstairs. I’m not speechless. I can’t fully appreciate the family along the way, loving us and supporting us,” she said.

“My parents can start life over,” she continued. “President Trump didn’t just commute through their writings. He gave them a complete and unconditional pardon, so I’m forever grateful.”

How long was Chrisleys in prison?

Julie Chrisley, 52, is sentenced to seven years in prison at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Her latest release date before the pardon was scheduled for January 2028.

Todd Chrisley spent time at FPC Pensacola and was scheduled to be released on April 7, 2032.

“Chrisley Knose Best” aired on the USA Network for 10 seasons from 2014 to 2023. “Chrisley, a spinoff featuring Chase and Savannah Chrisley,” went on to last four seasons after the 2019 premiere.

Joe Exotic also seeks pardon from Donald Trump

In Todd and Julie Chrisley’s pardon from Trump, reality TV star Joe Exotic, currently in prison, wonders why the president hasn’t returned his call.

“Donald J. Trump restores Joe Exotic’s freedom. He can go back to doing good things in the world,” the former businessman shared on his X account. “Joe Exotic didn’t hurt anyone. Joe Exotic paid nobody. Joe Exotic had no plans to hurt anyone. Joe Exotic suffers seven years after the bars being isolated, abused and treated in ways that Americans shouldn’t bear.”

Joseph Maldonado’s passage, Exotic, also shared a press release expressing his disappointment.

“In my life, President Trump has forgiven all these people who have actually committed crimes, but the president has never further disappointed me in my life that he is leaving me here as an innocent man,” read the statement.
