Good morning and Happy Friday! I’m Betty Lynn Fisher for Friday’s consumer edition of “The Daily Money.”
Temu may be a popular online site for holiday shopping, but the Consumer Federation of America is warning shoppers to be careful in a new report.
Consumer advocates aggregated complaints and lawsuits against the low-cost retailer from multiple attorneys general across the country.
USA TODAY exclusively covered the report and warning.
Value shoppers go to Walmart.
My colleague Jessica Guinn says Walmart is poised to make the most of the affordability crisis as inflation-stressed shoppers worry about the economy.
The company said its U.S. sales rose nearly 5% last quarter due to increased shopper visits and spending. E-commerce sales also increased by more than 25% compared to the previous year.
It’s not alone. Other retailers are also expressing optimism about the holiday season, although some are lowering their profit forecasts.
