Investigating the attack at Colorado Mall FBI
The FBI is investigating reports of “target attacks” at Boulder, Colorado Mall.
The video posted on social media appears to show a busy moment after attacking members of the Jewish community in Boulder, Colorado, during a march to seek the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
In one video, a shirtless man in dark sunglasses, believed to be the suspect, holds two glass containers filled with clear liquid, roaming back and forth through patches of grass, screaming at people nearby. Bystanders appear to provide first aid to anyone lying on the ground.
Authorities said the male suspect was in custody. Police have identified the suspect as Mohamed Sabri Soliman, 45.
The Antiformation League, an organization that works to combat anti-Semitism and bias, said the 53-second video was filmed after the June 1 attack.
Based on that analysis, the shirtless man appears to be saying, “How many children did you kill?” And “‘We need to finish the Zionists.”
The organization said the man also gestured towards what appears to be the victims of the attack, declaring, “They are murderers.”
Ben Williamson, assistant director of the FBI spokesperson, said in X, that the suspect “cried “free Palestine” while threw fire at a crowd of Jews.”
Six people, ages 67-88, were injured and taken to a local hospital.
In the video, a person off camera screams, “Get away, get away,” while a shirtless man screams, continuing to pace back and forth. At one point, the man raises his hand and lies on the grass as the policeman draws approaches.
As other officers approach, the officer appears to be handcuffing the man. The video ends with the man still on the ground and the police officer standing on top of him.
Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL’s national director and chief executive, noted that the attack was second in the US Jewish community in just two weeks.
“The first young couple slaughtered in DC. And now, firebombs, thrown into a group in Boulder, Colorado, have come together to express the solidarity of the 58 hostages and solidarity still being held in Gaza by Hamas terrorists,” he said.
Greenblatt said the attack was part of a “global campaign of deliberate threats and fear against Jews.”
Over the past few days, young Jews in London have been attacked, and public spaces in Brisbane, Australia have been tainted with anti-Semitic graffiti, destroying synagogues, Holocaust Memorial and kosher restaurants in Paris.
“Sadly, this is not surprising,” he said. “In fact, it’s completely predictable. This is exactly where anti-Semitic instigation leads, and this is exactly what malicious anti-Zionism makes possible.”
