The UFO is today’s hearing as the US Congress to hear more testimony. How to see

Date:

Here’s what you need to know about upcoming hearings about UFOs, the lack of government transparency on the topic and how to watch it live.

The UFO debate and the claim that the government knows more about them than allow it will once again fill the halls of Congress.

The House Task Force on Government Transparency is set to hold a hearing on Tuesday, September 9th, with four witnesses testifying under oath about their experience with UFOs and presenting the perception that the military is not entirely transparent about what lies behind the sightings.

“Americans deserve maximum federal transparency in UAP sightings, acquisitions and testing, and whether they pose a potential threat to American safety,” said R-Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, who chairs the task force.

“Whistleblowers who provide spending information and details on policies and procedures regarding UAP classification and declassification should be able to do so without retaliation,” Luna continued in a statement. “We look forward to hearing from witnesses about how the federal government can increase transparency and provide better answers about UAP.”

Luna’s Task Force on Federal Secret Confidentialization is a House Observation Subcommittee, which was established in February 2025 and separate from the last UFOS hearing held in November.

Here’s what you need to know about upcoming hearings entitled “Restoring public trust through UAP transparency and whistleblower protection” and how to watch live streams.

What does UFO mean?

UFO stands for unidentified flying object. This is currently the government calls it an unidentified, unusual phenomenon, or UAP. The new term is not only less condemned than UFOs, but is generic enough to reflect that many of the objects in question are found not only in the air but also in the water.

What is the UFO hearing in Congress?

During the hearing, witnesses discuss their own first-hand experience of seeing what they believed, and their knowledge of what the military and intelligence news communities may know about the phenomenon.

The hearing will include discussions about the UAP and what the Pentagon has revealed about the UAP about the new All-Domain Abnormal Resolution Office (AARO), which is tasked with investigating sightings, and what they may not have.

Four people, including three military veterans and one journalist, will testify at the hearing.

It is as follows:

  • Jeffrey Nuxseli, US Air Force Veteran
  • Chief Alexandro WigginsNavy veterans and UAP witnesses
  • George Knappa journalist who has been widely recognized for UFO coverage. Knapp has also been featured prominently in the Netflix documentary series “Investigation Alien.”
  • Dylan Boland, US Air Force Veterans and UAP Witnesses

What happened at the November council hearing on UFOS?

The hearing follows the latest testimony in Congress halls on November 14th about an unexplained object violating US airspace and a shadowy program to recover and study fallen crafts.

During the testimony of more than two hours, journalist Michael Schellenberger testified that the source informed him that the intelligence news community owned a number of high-resolution photos and videos of the craft, unlike grainy images that have so far been declassified.

Former Military Intelligence Bureau official Lewis Elizondo has described the decades-long international arms race to acquire and reverse strange vehicles so that the government can bolster its own technology. Testimony provided in July 2023, Supporting much of David Grush from the Pentagon Intelligence Agency, Elizondo accused the Department of Defense of hiding the UFO program from Congress and accused them of diverting funds.

Elizondo has denounced the intelligence reporting community for decades of “oversecret secrets” about the UAP report.

A few days after the hearing, the leader of the Pentagon office to investigate the UFO provided his own testimony. Jon T. Kosloski, director of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Agency (AARO), reinforced the agency’s attitude that it had not found evidence that any of the reported crafts is inherently extraterrestrial.
