The orbit of the moon is oval or oval rather than a perfect circle around the Earth. A supermoon is a heavenly event in which the moon’s orbit moves closer to Earth than usual. The October Supermoon will reach approximately 224,599 miles from Earth. According to Earthsky.org, the November 5th Supermoon will be closest to 2025, at around 221,817 miles from Earth.

Your brain compares between the moon and everyday objects, such as buildings that are much smaller than the moon itself. This comparison causes the brain to inflate the apparent size of the moon, giving the impression that it is huge.

What is the harvest month?

The “harvest month” is the full moon that is closest to the beginning of autumn. The month won its name as farmers relied on the moonlight to harvest crops late at night before electricity. According to NASA, lighting for this particular full moon was particularly important as the biggest harvest took place in autumn.

October Month Stage

As the Sun revolves around our planets, the appearance of the moon changes when standing on Earth as the Sun illuminates different regions of its surface. Astronomers call these transitions the lunar stage. According to BBC Sky at Night Magazine, the new moon, first quarter, full moon and the previous quarter are key stages.

How to get the best views of Supermoon

Check the time to check the month: Check the local list to find time for Moonrise and Moonset. Most weather and star viewing apps have them.

Location, location, location: Find a place away from city lights and other light pollution, find the moon in the sky and become comfortable.

No light: Your eyes need to adapt to the darkness, which can take 15-20 minutes.
