More than two dozen home-based stores are expected to close by by the end of September as the company continues to deal with its debt.

According to court documents previously obtained by USA Today, the Coppel, Texas-based furniture and home decoration retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 16, citing “broader economic and retail-specific market pressures.”

In June, the home initially said it would only close 26 stores before revising that number to 24. Retailer Hilco Consumer – On August 1, the retailer said the closing of additional stores in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey and Utah, eventually swelled to 30 people.

The problems with homes are as other brick and mortar retailers continue to face problems. This year we’ve seen retailers like Big Lots, Joann Fabrics, Kohl, Jcpenney, Macy’s and Party City cut down or put their physical footprints completely down. And this week, mall chain Claire filed for bankruptcy and said he tapped 18 Claire and icing stores to close.
