Gamers wait for midnight release of Nintendo Switch 2
Gamers formed long lines overnight waiting for the midnight release of Nintendo’s new Switch 2 console. The video shows the lines outside of BestBuy in New Mexico.

Nintendo has cast two lead rolls in the upcoming live-action film, based on the Legend of Zelda video game franchise announced on Wednesday, July 16th.
Link’s role is played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, while Zelda is played by Bo Bragason. In the “Zelda” video game, Link is generally the main character, sets out to save the kingdom of Haruru from the evil Ganon, but in some cases the gamer plays him like Princess Zelda.
Ainsworth previously starred as Miles Wingrave in Netflix’s “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” and voiced Pinocchio across from Tom Hanks in Disney’s 2022 live-action version of “Pinocchio.” Meanwhile, Bragason has appeared in shows such as the Disney+ series “Renegade Nell” and the British drama “The Jetty.”
Both cast selections are lesser known actors compared to some of the names suggested by fans. In particular, “Euphoria” star Hunter Schafer was a general suggestion to play Zelda.
The “Legend of Zelda” film became the next major Nintendo video game, transforming into a feature film after the success of the “Super Mario Bros. Films,” and was the second-highest growth film for “Barbie” in 2023, with over $1.3 billion at the global box office. The sequel to the “Mario” movie is also Way, and will be released in 2026.
However, while “Mario” was animated, the “Zelda” movie is live-action. Wesbord, who directed three “Labyrinth Runner” films and 2024’s “The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” directed The Legend of Zelda. It’s a long-standing passion project for filmmakers who have documented that they want to make it for over 15 years. In a 2010 post on X, Ball wrote, “I didn’t even have the opportunity to direct it… the next big (motion capture) movie like “Avatar” should be… the Legend of Zelda.”
When will the “The Legend of Zelda” movie be released?
“The Legend of Zelda” is scheduled to be a hit in theaters on May 7, 2027.
