Kelly Clarkson confirmed rumors about her daytime talk show schedule.

On Monday, Feb. 2, the singer-turned-host announced that the Daytime Emmy Award-winning “Kelly Clarkson Show” will end after its seventh season. An NBCUniversal news release described Clarkson’s move as “a personal decision to step away from talk show hosting after this season.”

“This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last,” Clarkson wrote in an Instagram post. “Taking a break from our daily schedules allows us to prioritize our children, which feels necessary and right for this chapter in our lives.”

In August, her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock passed away at the age of 48 after a three-year battle with skin cancer. The couple had two children together, River Rose (11 years old) and Remy Alexander (9 years old).

She continued, “This is not a farewell. I’ll still be making music and playing shows here and there, and you might see me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time…I don’t know where I’ll show up next.”

Clarkson also expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am forever grateful and honored to have worked with the best band and crew you could ask for, all the talented and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and NBC, who has always been a supportive and great partner.”

Season 7, currently airing in syndication, premiered on September 29th. A date for the final episode has not been announced, but an NBCUniversal news release states that the episodes will “air through the fall of 2026.”

“Several special guest hosts” will take over hosting duties at unspecified times, “to be announced.”

The “American Idol” winner has already pre-filmed episodes of “The Voice” season 29 with fellow coaches John Legend and Adam Levine. This season of “Battle of Champions” will air on February 23rd.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show,” beloved for its “Kelly York” segments and sometimes inspiring sit-downs with celebrities and “everyday heroes,” first aired in September 2019 and was intended to “spotlight the best in humanity,” according to a Feb. 2 release from NBCUniversal.

“To be completely clear, I was smiling a lot at that time because I was going through a lot of struggles in my personal life,” Clarkson told USA TODAY in 2023 about filming the show’s first four seasons. “I learned a lot about what I can and shouldn’t deal with.

For Season 5, she made a “much needed” move to New York City, where she has been based for more than two years.

“I knew I needed a fresh start, but I couldn’t be in Los Angeles. I really wanted to be in Montana, but I just can’t do a show from there yet,” Clarkson said. “So I thought, ‘New York is probably my only other option.’
