Chipotle is celebrating National Burrito Day on Thursday, April 2 by bringing back its popular Burrito Vault game for the third year in a row.

The game requires players to guess the burrito combinations by time for a chance to win prizes. This year’s game features a new gameplay mode called Double Protein Power Hour, which occurs once a day and doubles the number of prizes compared to regular gameplay hours. All prizes during the Double Protein Power Hour also include a Double Protein, Chipotle said in a news release.

The fast-casual restaurant chain announced in a news release that fans will be able to access the game starting at 9 a.m. ET on March 30 by visiting Unlockburritoday.com. Prizes include BOGO (buy one get one) entrees, a free double protein, and even a chance to win free burritos for a year.

“With more than 3.5 million views last year, Burrito Vault generated record engagement with our fans,” Interim Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Perdue said in a news release. “Bringing the game back for a third year allows us to build on our momentum while highlighting our clean protein offerings as more consumers prioritize protein-rich meals that don’t compromise on quality.”

Chipotle Burrito Vault How to play the game

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily from March 30 through Wednesday, April 1, Chipotle Rewards members can unlock the Chipotle Burrito Vault by guessing the exact combination of burrito orders for a chance to win prizes.

Players will receive four challenges per hour to win up to one BOGO entree or double protein during the campaign and compete for the grand prize of free burritos for a year.

Chipotle said the safe code will be reset every hour and new prizes will be offered. Prizes will be awarded hourly, giving players multiple chances to win ahead of National Burrito Day on April 2nd.

According to the restaurant chain, the first player to unlock a safe every hour during regular gameplay will win free burritos for a year. 3,600 BOGO will then be awarded, followed by a 2,000 Double Protein reward.

During Double Protein Hour gameplay, the first two players to unlock the vault will earn free Double Protein Burritos for one year, followed by a 7,200 Double Protein BOGO and 4,000 Double Protein rewards.

Chipotle offers $0 delivery fee on National Burrito Day

Customers who weren’t so lucky in the Burrito Vault game can still celebrate National Burrito Day as Chipotle is offering $0 shipping on digital orders made through the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com on April 2nd.
