The Bulls are doing what they did in the Michael Jordan era.

Date:

The Chicago Bulls overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, improving their season record to 6-1, the best in the Eastern Conference. Josh Guidy again had 29 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists, becoming the first Bulls player since Michael Jordan to record a triple-double in consecutive games.

His name has been popping up a lot lately on this year’s team.

Last week, they became the first Bulls team to start 5-0 since Jordan’s 1996-97 season. It’s a surprising development for a team that entered the season with the seventh-worst preseason win total in the NBA at BetMGM. At their current pace, the Bulls will cross the 33.5-win line by mid-January. No one had ever seen a season like this for them.

Of course, it’s still early. Things can and probably will change. Especially as some of the East’s better teams are getting healthier. No one expects Chicago to make a big splash in the playoffs, but an early return is still encouraging. Five of the Bulls’ six wins have come against teams with potential to make the East playoffs. Guidi is playing like an All-Star, averaging 23 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. And the team has the seventh-highest net rating in the NBA heading into Wednesday’s game.

At least the Bulls are fun again. That’s more than we’ve been able to say about them for a long time.
