The 2026 Winter Olympics officially came to a close with the final event of the world championships in Milan, the closing ceremony after the gold medal-winning men’s ice hockey match.
There were many great moments for multiple athletes who competed in the Winter Olympics, including the men’s and women’s hockey teams each defeating Canada for the gold medal. The North brought back silver.
Each country was able to take home medals worth bragging about, but only one country collected the most, and that went to Norway.

Norway topped the list with a total of 41 medals, including 12 gold medals, the most ever at the 2026 Winter Games. They won 11 bronze medals and 12 silver medals, tied for the most at the games with the United States.
The United States finished second overall with 33 medals, including 12 gold, 12 silver, and nine bronze.
Italy, the host country of the 2026 Winter Olympics, placed third with a total of 30 medals and 14 bronze medals, winning 10 gold medals and six silver medals.
