Tesla Cybertruck joins California Police Fleet
The Irvine Police Department will announce what they believe to be the country’s first police Tesla Cybertruck and support the community’s outreach efforts.
Tesla Tsla.o has raised the price of the US most expensive Cybertruck Pickup truck model by $15,000 despite softer than expected sales and recalls.
The sharp rise follows a long delay development where the pickup struggles to fulfill Tesla’s early promises and sales have been expected to date.
Currently, the CyberBeast variant, which costs $114,990, includes a new “Luxe package” that includes fully monitored, autonomous driving and free access to the supercharger network. Prices for other CyberTruck models remained unchanged.
The model’s pricing is well above CEO Elon Musk’s 2019 start price of around $40,000. However, when it was launched in late 2023, Tesla set the base model at $60,990, which was more than 50% more than its previous target.
Rival models such as Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet’s Silverado EVs usually offer lower entry prices for certain trims and encourage competition as cybertruck prices rise.
Tesla also offers a massive discount of around $10,000 on some of its inventory cybertruck units.
Musk previously said that Tesla has the capacity to produce more than 125,000 cyber torque per year, potentially reaching around 250,000 in 2025.
Pickups are below expectations, with sales representing a small percentage of the company’s overall delivery, with demand waning amid repeated recalls and quality issues.
Tesla has not disclosed cyber truck delivery, but the March recall covering approximately 46,000 vehicles, made from the start of delivery between November 2023 and February 27, 2025, suggests that cumulative truck sales are well below annual capacity figures.
