ABC News expelling reporter who called Trump “world-class hatred”
ABC News has ended its relationship with longtime reporter Terry Moran after social media posts elicited internal backlash.

Terry Moran has spoken out about his exit from ABC News, defending comments that led to his ouster.
After ABC turned down ties with Moran in a social media post about President Donald Trump and Deputy Chief of Staff of the White House, Stephen Miller, the journalists doubled his comments in an interview with Subsack.
In a conversation with Bulwark author Tim Miller, Moran, a former senior national correspondent at ABC News, said of his post, “I wrote it because I thought it was true.”
In a June 8th post in Original X, Moran described Stephen Miller as “a man blessed with the ability to hate,” and said that “hate is his spiritual nourishment.” The Post also said Trump, interviewed by Moran earlier this year, was “world-class disgust,” and that hatred was “a means of ending and ending his (sic) glory.”
The post elicited intense criticism from the White House and put ABC to stop Moran. A spokesperson for ABC News said in a statement to USA Today on June 8th that “ABC News represents the objectivity and fairness of news coverage and does not tolerate subjective personal attacks on others. This post does not reflect ABC News’ views, and as a result, Terry Moran is eager to see further evaluations.”
The ABC then said it would not renew its agreement with Moran based on his post, which is a “clear violation of the ABC News policy.”
In his material protection, Moran “deliberately used a language that is very strong” and accused Miller of “spewing poison and lies,” adding that “deteriorating our public discourse and using his power to crush us with that bile.”
Moran, who joined ABC News in 1997, claimed as a journalist that “your job is not objective.” Instead, “It’s fair and accurate that you have to be,” he said, claiming that his controversial posts were “accurate and true.”
Moran also revealed that his post was “not a drunken tweet” despite being shared since midnight. He said he “thinks about the country” throughout the day and decided to make his post after he went to bed that night. “I typed it, saw it, and I saw it, and I thought ‘That’s true,'” Moran recalled. “And then I hit the send.”
Moran said he was “not particularly liberal,” and claimed he was a “Hubert Humphrey Democrat,” and that he was “necessary” to use the language he used to describe Miller “as exactly as “. He said that was his “observation that reporters are doing,” and that Miller was “dangerous.”
Moran announced that he will launch his own Sacakka shortly after his departure from ABC. In a video shared on June 11th, he said, “The important task we all have to do at this time of such trouble for our country, “can’t wait to reach it.”
