Target has ended its Amazon and Walmart price matching guarantee on July 28th.

A retailer spokesman confirmed the policy change to USA Today. Starting July 28th, the target will only match its own in-store prices with online prices on Target.com if prices drop within 14 days, the spokesman said.

“We found that our guests, rather than other retailers, matched their targets that were overwhelmingly consistent with price, reflecting the great value and confidence in consumer pricing across our assortment and transactions,” Target said in a statement released to USA Today. “From July 28th, we will update our Price Match Guarantee Policy to reflect this, allowing consumers to continue shopping with confidence at Target Store and Target.com.”

When asked whether financial struggles, including tariffs and consumer boycotts, had influenced Target’s decision to terminate price matching policies, it said shoppers are primarily price matching target products and are changing rather than competitors.
