ATLANTA – Managers Dave Roberts and Aaron Boone announced their starting lineup one day before the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Roberts (National League) and Boone (American) revealed their starting pitchers on Saturday, July 12th, ending speculation about who will get the ball three days before the game.
“It’s such an honor to get on stage and play with all these incredible players,” Skenneth said.
It was the Skenes’ second All-Star start and was chosen to open in 2024 despite only 11 11 MLB starts in 2024. The Skenes have 20 NL-BEST 2.01 ERAs this season and have given up six home runs, but they have the latest Pirates 4-8 record.
“I’m excited to go to Auto with these guys tomorrow night and obviously I can give the ball to Talic Scubale,” Boone said. “We’ve taken off our young season and continued our advantage in the first half of the season… we can’t wait to see him get us to a good start tomorrow.”
Skubal, the winner of 2024 Al Cy Young, has gotten even better this year. The 28-year-old is 10-2 with an ERA of 2.23, leading the AL with strikeouts per nine (11.4), whip (0.826) and strikeouts per walk (9.6).
