The average new vehicle can easily last 13 years or more ownership if well maintained. So, comfortable seats are important for many drivers who are interested in long-term ownership. JD Power conducted a study to examine seat quality in 2025 vehicles using several metrics, including comfort. The results are amazing, adding a big point to the two nameplates.

JD Power is an American data analytics and consumer intelligence company specializing in car reviews, ratings and awards. We conducted research to determine which cars, trucks and SUVs have the highest quality seats.
The survey was based on responses from 92,694 car buyers and 2025 vehicle leases. Drivers participating in this study were investigated after 90 days of ownership. The number of problems and level of satisfaction were factors that determined which vehicles had the highest seat quality.
Two SUV models scored the highest JD power score out of 10 points. Kia Sorento and Subaru outbacks not only scored on the Chevrolet Rubbers (7.3/10) and Kia Telluride (7.5/10) in the Mass Market/SUV segment, but also scored the best scores in all segments.
Both models scored 9.3/10 from JD Power based on survey data. The results of the study are great news for both nameplates, as cabin comfort in both models is usually not highlighted compared to other notable features.
The 2025 Kia Sorento is a valuable family SUV
Korean automaker KIA is a mass market brand that produces several impactful name plates known for its strong value proposition. The Sorento is a medium-sized, three-row SUV perfect for large families on a budget as it can accommodate 6-7 passengers at an affordable price.

The Outback Midsize SUV has an extremely comfortable seating based on JD Power Study despite its sturdy and durable design language.
The 2025 Subaru Outback starts at $29,995. It is a 5-seater medium-sized SUV designed to make roads and beaten roads safe.
The Subaru medium-sized SUV uses a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine to create 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. It will achieve 26 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.
According to a review of the vehicle by Edmunds, the Outback has a “spacious cabin and a smooth, comfortable ride.” According to JD Power, the Outback can count quality seats among its strengths.
