Two-time Olympic 100 metreist Fred Carly has been arrested for punching Hurdler and ex-girlfriend Aleisha Johnson in the face, police said Friday.
The alleged incident occurred Thursday at a hotel where Johnson, listed as a competitor at a Miami event, was appointed as her conditioning coach when police told police he had met Kelly.
According to the arrest report, Johnson told officers he became aggressive and continued to approach her, then was hit once in the face by Carly with his closed fist and then he exclaimed his nose.
The report also said Johnson’s injuries were “consistent with her statement,” and that 29-year-old Carly was charged with one count of “battery touch or strike.”
Reuters contacted Carly’s representative for comment.

According to arrest reports, Carly and Johnson dated for about six months, but they broke up in October last year.
Carly, who won a bronze medal in the 100m final at the 2024 Parisio Games and a silver medal in the same distance at the 2020 Tokyo Games, was scheduled to compete in Miami on Saturday and in Miami on Sunday.
“Fred Carly was arrested last night. The matter is under active investigation and all inquiries should be sent to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office,” Grand Slam Truck said in a statement. “Fred will not compete this weekend. There are no further comments at this time.”
Carly competed in his first Grand Slam Track competition last month in Kingston, Jamaica.
The Grand Slam Track, which will host four competitions in 2025, was created by four times the Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson.
This circuit is a direct challenge to the Diamond League and is a standard representative for Worldwide, which holds 15 meetings each year in cities from Xiamen to Zurich.
