“Saturday Night Live” star Sarah Sherman has broken his silence over Amy Loowood’s controversial impressions.

The 32-year-old comedian said she felt badly at Vanity Fair that she was angry at the recent “SNL” sketch that teased her teeth.

“She’s so iconic and her character is so iconic, I was excited to play her,” Sherman said. She continued, “No one went into comedy to upset. It felt scary for everyone to feel bad.”

In April, Sherman performed Wood’s “White Lotus” character, Chelsea, in a “SNL” parody starring President Donald Trump and his allies. John Hamm portrayed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The sketch was then cut by the shaman. The Shaman wore fake teeth and spoke with exaggerated accents, portraying Wood’s “White Lotus” character.

After the episode aired, Wood, 31, accused the sketch of “mean and unfair,” saying, “I have big teeth that aren’t bad teeth. I don’t mind caricatures. I understand what “SNL” is.

Wood also criticized the accents Sherman used. “At least, take your accent seriously. Even if it’s mean, I respect accuracy,” she said on Instagram. However, Wood revealed that she “doesn’t hate” the shaman and instead “hate” the concept of sketching.

The “sex education” actress later revealed that the shaman had sent her a bouquet of “beautiful flowers.” Wood also said he received a “apology from “SNL” without providing details.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on May 5th, Wood decided to talk about the sketch, saying, “Just let me say it. And I spiral inwards and don’t feel bad about myself.”

“It all went out of control,” Wood told ET.

A few weeks after the sketch aired, Wood’s “White Lotus” co-star Walton Goggins hosted “SNL” on May 10th. His episodes were not addressing controversy.
