Shakari Richardson arrested in Seattle airport incident
American track and field star Shakari Richardson was arrested at the Seattle airport after allegedly getting into an argument with a male companion, police said.
According to reports including WFTV9, American Olympian Shakari Richardson was arrested for speeding on Thursday.
The Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office told a television station that a 25-year-old man was driving in a “dangerous manner” at 164 mph and passing other motorists on Florida’s Stony Brook Parkway.
The Dallas native was reportedly taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail on $500 bail.
Richardson was previously arrested in July 2025 for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington state.
Camera footage showed Ms Richardson pushing her boyfriend, sprinter Christian Coleman, through the airport, but she was acquitted after Coleman refused to take part in the investigation or identify himself as a victim in the case.
USA TODAY submitted a request to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Orange County Jail to confirm Richardson’s arrest.
Richardson won two medals for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including a gold medal in the 4×100 relay.
