Texas AG Ken Paxton’s wife file for divorce over alleged adultery
Texas Sen. Angela Paxton has announced that she has filed for divorce from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on “Bible Reasons.”
Texas Sen. Angela Paxton has announced that she has filed for divorce from her husband, Texas Attorney General and GOP US Senate candidate Ken Paxton.
According to court filings obtained by the Texas Tribune, Angela, a Republican representing the Dallas area town, has accused President Donald Trump of being a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, a well-known conservative and longtime ally. According to the divorce petition, the couple has been living apart since June 2024.
“I think marriage is a sacred contract and we have seriously pursued reconciliation,” she wrote on X on July 10th.
USA Today contacted the Court Clerk’s Office in Collin County, Texas, where the divorce petition was filed, to obtain a copy.
In his announcement regarding the news about X, Ken Paxton denounced “political attacks and public scrutiny” over filings of divorce. He did not deal with the allegations of adultery.
“I couldn’t be more proud or grateful for the incredible family that God blessed us, and I am still a dedication to supporting our incredible children and grandchildren,” he wrote in X.
Who is Ken Paxton?
Texas Attorney General, He took office in 2015 and has vehemently defended several of the Trump administration’s policies, including the deportation of immigrants and strict border policies.
The Attorney General has faced a series of controversies over the years.
The Securities and Exchange Commission accused him of securities fraud in 2016 before the judge abandoned the charges, and state prosecutors sought the case for years until in 2024 the charges were removed as part of the pretrial agreement.
He was fired off on bribery charges by the Texas Representative House in 2023, but the state Senate acquitted him in a fired-each trial featuring dramatic testimony on his extramarital affairs. (His wife refused to vote at trial.)
The Attorney General avoided another legal entanglement during the decline of former President Joe Biden’s administration when the Justice Department ended its investigation into criminal corruption without charges. He also survived a lawsuit from Barr in Texas over efforts to challenge the outcome of the 2020 election.
In April, he announced he would challenge Sen. John Cornyn of R-Texas in the 2026 primary for the Cornyn Senate seat.
The Attorney General has led the incumbent Cornyn in previous polls. It is unclear how divorce proceedings will affect Senate competition.
