Shoprite offers AI-powered shopping carts in three locations in New Jersey.
The store is the latest Shoprites to incorporate cutting-edge Kaper Carts that allow customers to easily make checkout experiences. Caper Carts features an interactive screen that allows shoppers to shop, track their spending in real time, and scan items for them to check out directly from their cart.
Two locations in the Garden State already released their carts earlier this month, but Clinton’s Shoplight location is expected to continue next week, at 11am on September 29th.
The store will display a total of 100 Caper Carts across all three locations in central New Jersey.
Sam Colalillo of Shoprite in Hunterdon County, a third-generation grocery store, said she has seen how technology can change the shopping experience.
“We look forward to introducing Kaper Cart to Shoplight stores in Flemington, Clinton and Greenwich,” Coralilo said. “Our customers have a smarter and faster way of shopping, using tools to track spending, find savings and check out directly from their cart using saved payment methods. This is a handy game changer and we are proud to bring this innovation to our stores.”
The Coralillo family recently introduced Caperkart at Shoplight stores in Yardley and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The AI-powered Caper Carts, provided by Grocery Technology Company Instacart, are placed in your cart, so items can also be weighted. Customers can sync ShopRite prices and club cards with Caper Cart and check out directly.
