At Home closes 29 unprofitable stores
Furniture and home decor retailer At Home will close 29 “unprofitable” stores by the end of September as part of its bankruptcy proceedings.

Ross Stores announced earlier this month that it opened 36 Ross Dress for Less stores and four dd’s DISCOUNTS stores in 17 states in September and October, completing the company’s plan to open 90 new stores in 2025.
“This fall, we continued to strengthen our brand presence with store openings in existing markets and expansion in new markets,” Richard Lietz, executive vice president of real estate development, said in an Oct. 13 news release.
“At Ross Dress for Less, we were excited to expand our presence in Sunbelt states while opening new stores in Michigan, New Jersey and New York, as well as adding stores in the Northeast as well as the Midwest. At dd’s, we strengthened our presence in our core markets of California and Texas,” Lietz said in a news release. “Looking to the future, we remain confident in our expansion plans and believe there are many opportunities to grow to at least 2,900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 dd’s DISCOUNTS stores over time.”
With the addition of 90 stores this year, Ross Stores now operates a total of 2,273 Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discount stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico, the company said.
According to the company, Ross Dress for Less is “America’s largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain,” offering “the highest quality, seasonal, name brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home fashion.” According to the company, DD’s features a “more affordable selection” of similar products.
