Rite Aid’s “Comeback Story” cuts Pharmacy Chain Files For for Ackruptcy again
After closing hundreds of stores and facing ongoing challenges, Rite Aid looks for buyers as he prepares to sell the remaining inventory and essential assets.

Rite Aid has announced more store closures after it reportedly agreed to sell pharmacy assets to various competitors from more than 1,000 locations.
Chapter 11 During the bankruptcy proceedings, the drugstore chain said it would close 115 stores, but newly published documents show that 27 additional stores are continuing their lawsuits.
In its first filing in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, the company indicated that just 47 stores are expected to close before adding it to the list a few days later. As of May 16, a total of 142 closures are expected to be shutters or more than 10% of the total 1,240 locations.
Earlier this month, Rite-Aid said during the bankruptcy process that he is “working to promote the smooth transfer of customer prescriptions to other pharmacies.”
The closure will occur as the company sells assets such as prescription files and other products to other retailers such as CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Kroger and Albertsons, according to Reuters. This transaction does not affect non-closed stores where customers can continue to use pharmacy services.
This is a list of updates for stores that will be shuttered immediately.
Where is Rite Aid closed?
Pennsylvania has most locations scheduled to close, with 69 stores set to shutters.
The company has listed 25 locations in California and 14 locations in Oregon, three in Maryland and one in Delaware. Stores are also available for Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Washington.
