Judging by his eating habits, it’s a wonder President Donald Trump is still alive, according to Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
President Kennedy appeared on the Katie Miller Podcast on Tuesday, Jan. 13, hosted by the wife of Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, to discuss everything from recent changes to federal nutrition and vaccine guidelines to which Cabinet members can do more push-ups.
When asked which members of his administration have the healthiest eating and fitness habits, he cited Sean Duffy and Pete Hegseth. When asked who had the most “disordered” eating habits, Kennedy answered, “The president.”
“What’s interesting about the president is that he eats really bad food. It’s McDonald’s, you know, candy and Diet Coke. He drinks Diet Coke all the time. He has a divine constitution. I don’t know how he lives, but he does,” Kennedy said.
President Trump’s love of fast food is well known, especially McDonald’s. He served the chain’s food to college football champions at the White House in 2019, hung out at a McDonald’s drive-thru window during the 2024 campaign, and later spoke at the McDonald’s Impact Summit, telling attendees that the administration is “serving almost exclusively McDonald’s every time” on Air Force One.
But it’s not always just Big Macs, Kennedy said. The health secretary says presidents choose fast food from major chains when they travel because they trust they won’t get sick while on the road.
“When he’s at Mar-a-Lago or the White House, he’s eating really good food,” he said. “When you travel with him, he’s just holding the poison in his body all day, and I don’t even know how he gets around, let alone the most energetic person we’ve ever met. But I think he actually eats pretty good.”
Kennedy boasts that President Trump has ‘the highest testosterone levels’
Regardless of his love of fries, Kennedy said Trump’s health is “incredible,” and noted that Dr. Mehmet Oz, a television personality and Trump-appointed administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, said a review of his medical records showed Trump had “the highest levels of testosterone I’ve ever seen for an individual over the age of 70.”
Kennedy added, “I think the president would be happy if I did it again.”
Kennedy’s comments came amid continued speculation about Trump’s health. The president has large bruises on his hands, which are sometimes seen covered in bandages and makeup, and the White House has blamed them on heavy use of aspirin. He has been repeatedly captured with slurred speech, appearing to fall asleep during meetings, and boasting about having taken the Montreal Cognitive Test, which is used to test for dementia. The White House also revealed in July that the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which causes noticeable swelling in his legs.
