More than 13,000 wireless phone chargers sold at TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been recalled due to an explosion hazard.
“The charger can explode during use, creating a fire and burn hazard,” TJX, the Massachusetts-based owner of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, shared on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website.
The company sold the Isla Rae magnetic wireless charger for $15 from June 2024 to November 2025, the notice said.
The company said 13,200 chargers sold in the U.S. were recalled and 7,000 chargers were sold in Canada.
The charger attaches magnetically to the back of a mobile phone to charge it, and was sold in white, pink, and purple colors. The charger was manufactured in China and imported by Hello to Green or Press Play Products of Bell, California.
Charger model number RM5PBM, recall number 26-179. As of early January 2025, no injuries or incidents have been reported.
What should I do if I have a recalled charger?
TJX said in its recall announcement that customers who own the charger should stop using it, visit www.recallrtr.com/powerbank to register the recall and follow the instructions for a full refund.
The company says lithium-ion batteries such as the recalled chargers can cause a fire and should not be thrown in the trash with regular items. Customers who need to dispose of their charger should contact their local household hazardous waste collection center.
Customers with questions may contact TJX at 888-256-1564 or email powerbank@realtimeresults.net between 7:30 a.m. (Central Time) and 5:00 p.m. (Central Time) Monday through Friday.
