With some starters, McJones and the 49ers stuck to beat the Los Angeles Rams 26-23 in an overtime thriller on Thursday night.
San Francisco took an astounding 14-0 lead in the first half and endured a comeback by the Rams, who made the game work overtime.
It’s the 49ers’ first victory since September 17, 2023 compared to the NFC West Rivals.
Jones was beginning to sharply replace Brock Purdy. Jones passed 342 yards on two touchdowns, which was a great outing for QB.

Jones completed his first eight passes and was able to keep the offense moving all night. He had 179 passing yards and two touchdowns in the first half.
Jones finished the 29-29 pass for 342 yards and two touchdowns. It was his best game in the 49ers uniform and one of his top performances as a professional. He did an amazing job managing the 49ers offense.
Jones is currently 3-0 as a San Francisco starter.
Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey was ranked third in the NFL at 31 receptions and ranked in week 5, 530 yards from Scrimmage.
The running back was the main offensive source of the 49ers on Thursday night.
McCaffrey was exposed to football five times during his opening touchdown drive in San Francisco. The opening series represented a night-like night for running backs.
McCaffrey had 189 yards in the first half alone, 89 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown.
The 49ers returned with 139 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown in the win.
Kendrick Bourne
Without Brandon Ayyuk, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsal, Born would have been asked by San Francisco’s first wide receiver. He delivered.
Born produced 10 receptions with a career-high 142 reception yards. He was fighting for catch and reception in the middle. He was McJones’ favorite target.
The Rams had no answer for him.
Alfred Collins
Collins loosened his football from Kylen Williams as he was about to score a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Collins recovered football at the San Francisco one-yard line.
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan
The 49ers head coach and play caller played an amazing game despite reducing some key players.
Eddy Pineiro
Achieves a long 59-yard field goal in his career. He connected with a 41-yard field goal in overtime, eventually leading to a game-winning score.
Fred Warner
Linebacker Fred Warner tied Team High with 12 tackles. The 49ers linebacker pushed a big push in the final game of the game, allowing Marques Sigle to finish the game by working on Kyren Williams in the backfield.
Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh deserves credit for preparing him for his defense.

When the Rams began to gain a bit of momentum 14-0 in the second quarter, the column dropped an external toss when the team was in a position to score. Linebacker Trevis Gipson recovered loose football on the San Francisco 30-yard line.
The column also fell in the third quarter.
Joshua Curty
Carti scored two field goals in week three that were blocked by the Philadelphia Eagles. The 49ers attended a block party Thursday night.
Jordan Elliott blocked Carti’s extra point attempt after the Rams tied the score 20-20 at Kylen Williams’ touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.
