Best Beds for the NFL Weekly 5: Why I Like the Eagles and Lions on Sundays
Need help making your pick before Sunday? Lorenzo Reyes shares their best bets for their fifth week game.
The Los Angeles Rams host a San Francisco 49ers team that was hurt and abused in a “Thursday Night Football” clash between NFC West rivals.
The 49ers will run out on the offensive side of the ball for Thursday’s game. Starting quarterback Brock Purdy (TOE) misses the contest after returning from injury in week 4, starting receivers Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (rib rib/ankle).
Bith George Kittle (Hamstring) and Brandon Aiyuk (ACL Recovery) also stand by, with 49ers backup quarterback Mac Jones having to work with the skeleton weapons crew in divisional battles. He believes he’s leaning heavily towards Christian McCaffrey as a backfield outlet while receiver Kendrick Bourne and tight end Jake Tong try to help as much as he can.
The Rams are far healthier than the 49ers and will likely rely on Pukanakua to continue their attacks. The 24-year-old currently leads the league with catches (42) and receiving yards (503), usually working well in the “TNF” game, averaging 122.3 yards in three career games on Thursday.
Like last Thursday night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals, the winner will find himself sitting alone above the NFC West for at least a few days.

San Francisco used a large dose of Christian McCaffrey to drive the 49ers opening drive. He took up 40 yards with five touches (two catches, three carry). However, quarterback Mac Jones discovered a tight ending jocking in the middle opens wide due to a six-yard touchdown pass.
Eddy Pineiro’s extra points attempt is good, with the 49ers taking a 7-0 lead at 10:09 and going into the first quarter.
The 49ers quarterback was buried for an injured block pardy and began a 4-4 match for 71 yards.
Los Angeles won a coin toss and chose to postpone it to the second half. Rams kicker Josh Carty energized a knuckleball-style kick to start the game, and 49ers returner Skyy Moore groped it out. After it bouncing back in the air, Moore surrounded it and the 49ers offense began a drive on his own 28-yard line.
