Even though Prince Andrew has left the royal residence, Queen Elizabeth’s dog Corgi still has a home.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement to The Independent on October 31 that the late Queen’s corgis, Muik and Sandy, “will remain with the family”, but did not say who in the family would care for them.

In 2022, representatives for Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson confirmed that the couple would continue to care for Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis after she passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96.

The update comes after Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement on October 30 that Charles III had begun the process of stripping Prince Andrew of his style, title and honor, who has come under intense scrutiny in recent years for his past relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and will also be leaving the royal residence at Royal Lodge, where he has lived with his family since 2004. Under the lease, Andrew and his family were previously allowed to live there until 2078.

Buckingham Palace said: “These charges are deemed necessary despite the fact that he continues to deny the charges.” “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathy have been and continue to be for victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.”

Mr Andrew previously announced he would step back from public life in 2019 following backlash over his past friendship with Mr Epstein. On October 17, Andrew confirmed that he would no longer use his royal title.

“After discussions with the King and my immediate family, I have come to the conclusion that the continued accusations about me are distracting from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. As always, I have decided to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to withdraw from public life,” Andrew said.

Andrew plans to move into a property on the Sandringham estate. The palace said: “Future accommodation will be privately funded by Andrew’s brother, King Charles.”
