Actor Peter Green, known for playing villains in films such as “The Mask” and “Pulp Fiction,” has died. He was 60 years old.
His manager Greg Edwards confirmed the news in a statement to USA TODAY on Dec. 13.
He told NBC News, Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter that Greene was found dead in her New York City apartment on December 12th. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
USA TODAY has reached out to the New York City Police Department for comment.
“No one has ever played a bad guy like Peter,” Edwards told NBC News. “But he also had a kinder side that most people never saw and a heart as big as gold.”
His nearly 100 film and television credits also include appearances on Apple TV’s “Dope Thief,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “Life on Mars.” In 1994’s The Mask, Green played gangster Dorian opposite Jim Carrey.
That same year, he played the brutal security guard Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction.
“He was passionate about unraveling all the deaths that occurred around the world as a result of America’s dismantling of USAID,” Edwards told Deadline. “He was a good friend who would give you the shirt off his back. He was loved and will be missed.”
Greene co-produced and narrated the documentary “From the American People: USAID Withdrawal,” which uses “first-hand accounts, expert interviews, and investigative reporting” to “educate the public, hold leaders accountable, and reignite the national dialogue about America’s role in global humanitarian assistance,” according to the GoFundMe page.
Green is survived by his brother, sister, and son Ryder, 16.
