Protesters are surged due to multiple demonstrations. The British Prime Minister is planning a visit. Golf is probably on the agenda.

President Donald Trump will return to Scotland, a place of special importance to him from July 25-29.

Scotland is the birthplace of Trump’s mother and where he owns two golf resorts, one of which is poised to open a new golf course. However, he is not always given a warm welcome, clashing with residents over his resort plans and facing protests against his politics.

While more protests are taking place, Trump should give a friendly greeting from British Prime Minister Stage, Stage, to meet the convention ahead of his formal national visit in September.

The Scotland trip is a prelude to a dignified national visit to Trump meets British royalty. This is what you need to know about travel.

Improved trade contracts

The UK was the first country to reach a trade deal with the Trump administration after the president suspends mutual tariffs in April.

Trump is once again bolstering his tariff push, with more countries agreeing to trade agreements ahead of the August 1 deadline for the new tax to come into effect. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president and priorities will work to “improve” the trade agreements during their trip to Scotland. The UK is America’s ninth trading partner.

Trump’s UK trade contract maintained a 10% universal tariff on the country, while lowering tariffs on automobiles and steel. The UK has pledged to open a market for US agricultural products such as beef and ethanol.

The protest was planned

While Trump meets with priorities, protesters gather around Scotland and blow up the president.

According to its website, the UK-based Trump Union is holding demonstrations in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Dumfries. The group organized a major protest when Trump visited the UK during his first administration and rebooted after reelection.

The Trump Union said it was “working to beat Trumpist politics and promote an alternative democratic vision for the world based on peace, social justice and international cooperation.”

Next Windsor Castle

Trump will return to England from September 17-19 for a more elaborate visit, including a meeting with King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

Trump is a worshipper of British royalty. He died twice as president in 2022, and met Queen Elizabeth II, who visited Windsor Castle in 2018 and had dinner with Queen at Buckingham Palace during her 2019 state visit. Trump’s September trip was the US president’s first visit to the state for the second time.

“He looks forward to meeting with the king’s jealous and looking forward to meeting with the king,” Levitt says, calling the trip “really unprecedented.”

Trump met with the heirs of Prince William’s Charles in December in France during the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Trump calls his relationship with the United States “highest level special.” Scotland in particular has a personal importance to the president.

Trump’s Scottish Resort and Controversy

Scotland is closely linked to the game of golf and its history, and Trump is an avid golfer with an extensive portfolio of golf properties.

The president is visiting golf resorts in Scotland, Trump Turnberry on the West Coast, and Trump International Scotland on the East Coast, Aberdeen.

Aberdeen’s fortune has been a headache for Trump for many years. He opposed the development plan for the property and fought a failed legal battle to block wind turbine farms off the coast.

But the president can now celebrate the development of his second golf course in Trump International Scotland. According to the resort’s website, the second course will open on August 13th.

Trump pushed Turnberry Properties to host an open championship. The pro-Palestinian group recently destroyed property, previously a site for four UK open events.

Beyond his resorts, Trump is connected to Scotland through his family pedigree. His mother was born to Mary Ann MacLeod in Ton, a village on Lewis Island in the Hebris Islands. She moved to New York in the 1930s.
