Priscilla Presley dated many famous men after her divorce from Elvis, but she maintained her relationship with Robert Kardashian with herself.
In her new memoir, “I Leave You: Life After Elvis” (Grand Central Publishing, 320 pp., released Tuesday, September 23), she recalls jumping out of bed with the Kardashian, who was sleeping and sleeping at 2am, calling from the n’roll of Rocko Block.
“If I had known Robert was in my bedroom, I would have been literally ballistic,” she wrote in an early copy of the book, provided by USA Today. “Elvis always had a loaded gun and sometimes multiple guns.”
It never happened to him that Priscilla might have been asleep. And “It certainly never happened to him that I might be with another guy.” She recalls the enthusiasm that Elvis explained the great show that night (“Damn, I was knocking ’emot’!”).
After the chat she returned under the cover, but neither person was wise. “He never knew Elvis had called, and Elvis never knew about Robert.”

Priscilla, now 80 years old, met Robert through the ex-wife of Elvis’s road manager Joe Esposito, a member of Elvis’ road manager, Memphis Mafia, who began dating Robert’s brother Tom. (They continued to get married.)
Robert wanted to marry Priscilla, but within a few months he knew that he wasn’t her future. “I wasn’t ready to marry again.”
“Robert was a sweet guy and I liked him,” she adds. However, “Robert had a tough job as a lawyer, working long hours five days a week. By the time the weekend was rolling, all he wanted was a quiet night at home with popcorn and good movies. It was fine at first, but I gradually became more restless.”
But they remained friends and they were able to speak for the last time, as Kim Kardashian called Priscilla from the hospital in 2003 when Robert was dying of esophageal cancer.
“Robert and I had a final conversation before he passed away,” she writes. “He is a kind man and I remember him with great affection.”
After their split, Kardashian married Kris Jenner in 1978 and had four children, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob. Chris later married Cait Lin Jenner, who was married to Elvis’s Post-Trisilla girlfriend Linda Thompson, and had two children, Kendall and Kylie.
