Trump says he doesn’t know if he has to support the constitution
When asked at NBC’s “reports,” President Trump said, “I don’t know,” if he had to support the Constitution to implement a deportation strategy.
SAN FRANCISCO – President Donald Trump has said he is instructing federal prisons to rebuild and reopen the infamous Alcatraz prison in San Francisco Bay, “the most ruthless and violent criminal in America.”
“Rebuild and Open Alcatraz!” Trump posted on the Truth Social Platform on May 4th.
The federal prisons in Alcatraz housed infamous American criminals, such as Alcapone, before its closing in 1963. It is currently one of San Francisco’s most popular tourist destinations.
“Today, I am directing that together with the Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Justice, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, the Office of Prisons to resume a massively expanded and rebuilt Alcatraz,” writes Trump.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website, the prison was closed because of the island’s location because it was too expensive to continue operating. It cost three times more than any other federal prison, according to the BOP website.
