President Trump says on social media that Greene would not have had support in 2026
Marjorie Taylor Greene announces resignation from Congress
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced she is resigning from Congress after months of feuding with President Trump and other Republican leaders.
President Donald Trump has once again gone after the Truth Social of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a longtime ally who drew Trump’s ire by supporting legislation to force the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files. Greene announced Friday night that she will resign from Congress next year.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Georgia Republican Greene “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown” and said she would not have gained support in the Republican primary.
“For some reason, Marjorie has gotten worse, mainly because I refused to respond to her constant barrage. Still, I will always be grateful to Marjorie and thank her for her service to our country!” he said.
Greene remained active on social media hours after announcing her plans to resign from the House in January, a year before her current term ends.
“No leader can save this country, but you, the American people, can save it. If we all stitch together a beautiful, torn and battered American flag, we can do anything,” she said.
