The Powerball jackpot for Monday, Feb. 2, known as Groundhog Day, is $65 million, with a cash value of $29.4 million if no ticket matches all six numbers in the Jan. 31 drawing.
There has already been one Powerball jackpot winner this year. On January 22, one ticket purchased in North Carolina matched all six numbers and won $209 million. The winner claimed a $95.3 million lump sum option, resulting in a take-home pay of $68.6 million before federal and state tax withholdings.

The simple answer is no. You do not need to be a US citizen or resident to play Powerball.

How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Choose 5 white balls (1-69) and 1 red Powerball (1-26).
Add a “Power Play” for $1 and your non-jackpot prizes will be multiplied by up to 10x.
A “Quick Pick” option is also available if you want the computer to select the numbers for you. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls with the red Powerball in any order.
Powerball drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. If no one wins the jackpot, the prize increases.
