How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets can be purchased at authorized retailers such as convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. In some states, you can also purchase tickets online depending on local laws.
To play, select five white balls numbered 1-69 and one red Powerball numbered 1-26. For $1, players can add a Power Play, which doubles, triples, 4x, 5x or 10x their non-jackpot winnings.
You can also choose Quick Pick, which lets the computer choose the numbers for you. To win the jackpot, players must match all five white balls with the red Powerball.
Powerball drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights. The winnings continue to increase even if no one wins the jackpot.
