Brisbane, Australia

Postmen are welcomed as heroes for doing extraordinary acts.
Gurpreet Singh was caught up in a homeowner’s security camera last Thursday delivering to a suburban address in Logan, south of Brisbane, Australia.
Instead of pointing the package towards the door, Singh is seen taking the resident’s seat out of the clothesline and covering it, as some professional delivery drivers might want to do it.
It was starting to rain.
Homeowner Verrity Wandel was so surprised that he posted a video on social media this week.
On social media, where complaints about dangerous delivery are more common, Singh’s thoughtful behavior went viral. The story was featured by the Indian media. There, one outlet was called Shin and called “Landery Hero.”

As their online fame spread, Sin and Wandel appeared on Australian breakfast television, and Wandel walked through viewers for the day’s event.
“We had a vision of wrapping laundry, rolling it up, and being embedded in the garden. I ran in, but there was no laundry on the line, and I thought it was strange.”
Asked why he did that, Shin seemed really confused in his mind, but he said he thought, “I wonder if I can do that,” and then he did it anyway. “A minute,” he said.
As a member of Brisbane’s Sikh community, Singh is a familiar face in local temples, and he is known for carrying out acts of service in line with the Sikh faith, a member of one community told CNN.
“When I saw this act, I knew he wasn’t doing it for publicity or anything.

Wandell denied the suggestion that one radio host is part of an elaborate marketing ploy on behalf of the government-owned Australian post.
Operating as a commercial business, Australian mail has suffered losses in recent years amid declining letter succession and competition from delivery companies.
Of Singh, Australia, he said it was flooded with requests for information about a delivery driver who had been working as a contractor for four years. “He tries to help customers where they can,” the spokesman said.
Wandel’s first post attracted thousands of comments praising Singh, but a series of abusive comments prompted her to post a follow-up video.
“We should be a kind world,” she said in the video.
“If you have the opportunity to do completely selfless behavior, do it and don’t think about it. Greet someone. Smile someone. It makes a difference.”
