In the nearly nine months since President Donald Trump took office, the second-term president has made significant aesthetic changes to the White House, including renovating his Mar-a-Lago home.

Most recently, demolition work on the East Wing of the White House began on Monday, October 20th. The construction is part of President Trump’s plan to build a ballroom on the east side of the White House. The president said at an event in the East Room on October 20 that construction work on the ballroom began earlier in the day.

The demolition will be one of the most significant White House construction projects ordered by a president in decades.

Earlier this year, the central part of the rose garden, traditionally covered with grass, was replaced with stone tiles. The Oval Office also received a style change, with more gold around the room.

Here’s what President Trump has changed in the White House this year.
