Pete Buttigieg to speak at Detroit Auto Show forum in January

Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to speak at the Mobility Global Forum at the Detroit Auto Show on January 14th.

Auto show event planners said on Dec. 4 that remarks from Buttigieg, who served as Cabinet secretary under President Joe Biden, will be “focused on training and attracting the next generation in the automotive and manufacturing workforce.”

The former transportation secretary and mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who ran for president in 2020, is currently a resident of Traverse City.

The Mobility Global Forum is an executive symposium held Jan. 14-15 during the show’s Media and Industry Days, which also includes the 2026 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year awards ceremony. For pricing, please visit detroitautoshow.com.

A black tie charity preview event will then be held on January 16th on the Huntington Place showroom floor.

The Detroit Auto Show will be open to the public from January 17th to 25th.
