Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson turn heads at ‘The Naked Gun’ premiere
Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson sparked romance rumors as they got cozy at the London premiere of the Naked Gun reboot.
Pamela Anderson finally reveals the naked truth.
In a new People cover story published on Tuesday, Dec. 9, the “Baywatch” star, 58, admitted that she was romantically involved with “The Naked Gun” co-star Liam Neeson, but shared that they are no longer an item.
“Just so you know, Liam and I had a brief relationship, but that was after we finished filming,” she told the magazine.
Anderson said she and Neeson spent an “intimate week” at the “Taken” actor’s New York home, and “went to dinner at a small French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson.'”
However, after a “lost week” that Anderson spent together, the two “went their separate ways to work on other films” until reuniting during the promotion of “The Naked Gun” over the summer.
“We had fun,” she said, likening their relationship to “a Nancy Meyers movie.”
But ultimately, Anderson told People that she and Neeson are “better friends, to be honest,” adding that the two will “always be in each other’s lives.”
Anderson played the romantic interest of Neeson’s character in the slapstick comedy “The Naked Gun,” which was released in theaters in August. During the film’s press tour, the pair sparked romance rumors after they appeared friendly and shared a kiss on the cheek at the London premiere.
However, Neeson and Anderson remained tight-lipped about their relationship status at the time. He was asked directly if this was a topic for the “Today” show in July, but he declined to give a direct answer. “I had never met Pamela before,” Neeson said. “We met on set and realized we had great chemistry as both actors.”
Some speculated that the dating rumors were part of a PR stunt to drum up interest in the film. However, Anderson denied this in a People magazine cover story.
“I always laughed when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt?’ This is true,” she said. “We have real feelings.”
The “Last Showgirl” actress previously denied speculation that the relationship was a stunt during a speech at the 51st Deauville American Film Festival in France in September.
“I don’t and never will engage in PR stunts,” she said. “That’s a death sentence. I’m really driven. I’m superstitious when it comes to love. And I don’t feel comfortable sharing parts of my love life with other people because, as you can see, in a media culture that’s quick to criticize and trash, it’s only built up and torn down in days, weeks, months.”
