Pacsun will grow significantly in 2026 after not opening a new store for nearly 20 years.
As a result of the resurgence of brick-and-mortar stores across the United States, the Anaheim, California-based retail chain and clothing brand announced plans to open 20 to 35 new stores over the next three years.
“Our stores are cultural touchpoints for a generation that values experiences as much as products,” Brieane Olson, Pacsun’s chief executive officer, said in a Dec. 18 press release.
“What starts on our social channels — inspiration and community — ultimately drives young people to see it in person,” Olson added. “Doubling down on our brick-and-mortar stores is just a reflection of what the community is already telling us.”
Where will Park-sun go next?
Founded in 1980, Pacific Sunwear of California LLC (Pacsun) is experiencing its first significant retail expansion after not opening any additional stores in the United States for 18 years.
At least nine more U.S.-based stores will open in 2026, including the first overseas stores at Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Fla. and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, and up to 20 stores are expected to open across the Middle East over the next five years.
In 2025, Pacsan will open nine stores in the United States, including three in New York state alone: in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, Westchester, a suburb just north of New York City, and Victor, near Rochester.
