The 2025 National Dog Show, hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, had 201 breeds compete in this year’s event. The show has been a Thanksgiving tradition since 1933, and a new champion has been crowned.
Founded in 1879, the event is open to only purebred dogs registered with the American Kennel Club and competes in seven groups: herding dogs, hunting dogs, non-sporting dogs, sporting dogs, terriers, toy dogs and working dogs. The winners of each group competed for the coveted Best in Show title.
The 2024 Best in Show winner was a pug named Vito from North Carolina. But in 2025, Soleil, a Belgian Sheepdog from the sheepdog group, took the prestigious title.
