Over a million Oster countertop ovens have been recalled for potential burn risk.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Oster issued a recall on September 25th at approximately 1,290,000 countertop ovens in France’s door countertop ovens. The spring-equipped doors of the recalled oven are unexpectedly closed, with potentially burning consumers.
As of September 25th, Oster had received 95 reports of an unexpectedly closed door and was burned. Two of these reports included second-degree burns, according to the CPSC.
Which Oster French Door Countertop Ovens have been recalled?
According to CPSC, the recalled Oster French Door Countertop Ovens have model numbers TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF and TSSTTVFDDAF. The model number is printed on the back of the oven and on the label on the original packaging of the oven.
The oven comes with spring-loading glass doors with metal handles. “Oster” is engraved at the bottom right of the product. The model comes in a variety of cooking options and control types. For example, analog dials and digital push button controls.
Where was the recalled oven sold?
The recalled ovens were sold in Bed Bath & Beyond, Costco, Walmart and other stores between August 2015 and July 2025, between $140 and $250 between August 2015 and July 2025, according to the CPSC.
What should I do if I buy a recalled oven?
Consumers who purchase the recall should stop using the countertop oven immediately and contact Sunbeam Products Inc. to receive a free repair kit.
The repair kit includes a clip-on device that provides additional retention to hold the oven door in place when reaching for the oven, and includes a QR code link to the repair instructions and installation video. Repair kits do not require installation tools.
