Op! Authentic Greek Food Files for California Bankruptcy

Greek restaurant chain Oppa! The authentic Greek food filed for bankruptcy and, according to recent filings, plans to liquidate the remaining assets in California.

List the main addresses for Opa, Santa Clara, California! Signature foods filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Friday, September 19th, documents filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California state.

According to court documents obtained by USA Today, listed as joint debtors are the company’s CEO Molly Adams and her husband Marcus Adams, OPA Management Group.

In the document, OPA Signature Foods listed the total number of 1-49 creditors and the assets ranged from $100,000 to $500,000. The company’s liabilities ranged between $100,000 and $500,000, documents continued.

In the bankruptcy documents, Adams wrote that he had met with his legal and financial advisor, filed for bankruptcy and made the decision to liquidate the company’s assets.

“It is desirable for the petition to be filed by a company seeking relief under the provisions of Chapter 7 of Title 11 of the US Code in the best interests of the Company, its creditors and other parties,” Adams wrote.

Op! California cities previously had at least six locations, including Campbell, Morgan Hill, Santa Clara, Walnut Creek and San Jose, according to a post on the company’s previous website, a social media outlet, Silicon Valley Business Journal.

What is it! Are the locations for authentic Greek cuisine closed?

Op! According to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, authentic Greek cuisine offering gyrofries, falafelbite, Greek nachos and seafood opened its first San Jose location in 2008.

According to Los Altos Town Crier, Adams joined the company around 2010 or 2011. She founded the Hero Adams Restaurant Group in 2015. The group includes Mo’s The Breakfast + Burger Joint and Tac-Oh, according to The Silicon Valley Business Journal! Willard Hicks, Mo’s The Breakfast + Burger Joint, Tac-Oh! Included.

As of September 24th, all of the following locations are listed as closed on Yelp and Google.

  • Campbell (276 E. Campbell Avenue)
  • Morgan Hill (17290 Monterey St.)
  • San Jose (225 W. Santa Clara Street)
  • Santa Clara (2722 Augustin Drive, Suite #130)
  • Walnut Creek (1532 N. Main St.)

USA Today contacted its attorneys on Wednesday, September 24th, and did not receive any responses regarding the possibility of the closure.

Social media users respond to OPA! Real Greek food closure

Op! According to a US court, it filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

There may be people or mortgages held by other creditors in the company’s property and may even be able to maintain the exempt property.

When the downtown Campbell location was closed, social media users shared the news online, noting some of their favorite menu items and how the services were changed.

“The bottomless mimosa was a fun time,” one user wrote on August 14th. “The food went downhill.”

Others stated how disappointed they were by the closure.

“Did they still actually close, do you know?” I wrote one of my Facebook users on August 15th. “I had plans to meet a group of friends next Friday.”

When another user shared the news about where it closed in San Jose’s Willow Glen area in February, visitors spoke about how the business marked a key point in life.

“I miss them when they were on the corner of Lincoln and Minnesota,” a Facebook user wrote. “First date with my partner.”
