College Football Week 6 Straight Picks
Before the sixth week of the snap, picks and forecasts include Vanderbilt Alabama, Duke Cal and Miami Florida.
Bill Belichick made his “College Gemedae” debut Saturday as headman for the North Carolina football program, attacking it in an on-field interview.
The exterior included former Alabama coach and “College Gemedae” host Nick Saban giving Nick Saban credit for the “bad lot” information the former NFL coach learned alongside the Cleveland Browns. According to Saban, that is clearly not true.
“We didn’t always think we were friends. I say you’re full (exped).” “I learned more from you than you learned from me.”
But what has Belichick learned from Saban over the years? Going back day by day with the Cleveland Browns, this is what the first year Tar Heels coach had to say. Saban served as Belichick’s defensive coordinator in Cleveland from 1991 to 1994.
“I learned awful lot from Coach Saban. We came from different defensive systems and integrated them in Cleveland. I learned a lot from him. We didn’t do much in New York (with the Jets).
“It was a great experience to see Nick handle free agents and embrace and build the program in Alabama, and I am extremely grateful for the relationship I have for everything he and I have learned from him.
Belichick is now building his own program in Chapel Hill along with the Tar Heels, his first college football coaching job in his illustrious career. Despite being 2-2 in the season and having two defeats to four opponents in TCU and UCF, Belichick said at “College Gamema Day” that he believes the program is making progress and is looking at class recruitment as a way to build a foundation for success.
North Carolina is making its biggest test to date against another struggling team, Clemson at noon at Kennan Memorial Stadium under Belichick on Saturday. The Tar Heels victory on October 4th was not only the biggest victory of the budding Belichick era, but also snaps the skid who lost six games to the Tigers.
