Best Actor winner Brendan Fraser returns to heartwarming territory in a drama set in Japan, and current Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke gives his best performance as a Broadway legend. And in the latest SpongeBob movie, the iconic character adventures through the spooky underworld with a dastardly ghost pirate. (Don’t worry, parents. We’re getting some “Aha!” reviews.)

Here are 10 hottest new movies you can stream right now.

“Blue Moon”

Ethan Hawke received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of the famous lyricist Lorenz Hart for this vivid portrayal of the character. Richard Linklater revisits the afterparty for the 1943 “Oklahoma” premiere. There, a newly sober Hart tries to maintain some form of pride by obsessing over college student Elizabeth (Margaret Qualley) and toasting his old partner Richard Rodgers (Andrew Scott).

“Dead of Winter”

I’m not ready for Judy Greer as a murderous villain. In this thriller, Emma Thompson plays a grieving Minnesota widow who visits her favorite ice fishing spot to scatter her husband’s ashes, clashes with a desperate and violent couple (Greer and Marc Menchaca), and attempts to rescue a kidnapped young woman (Laurel Marsden).

Where to watch: HBO Max

‘Eternity’

Larry (Miles Teller) chokes on a pretzel and ends up in the afterlife, choosing eternity. He decided to wait for his wife of 65 years to show up. But when Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) gets there, in this twist on the usual love triangle rom-com, she’s also greeted by her first husband, Luke (Callum Turner), who she’s been waiting for since his death in the Korean War.

Where to watch: apple tv

“Honey Bunch”

Starring Grace Glowiecki as a woman who undergoes an experimental treatment to regain her memory after a car accident with her husband (Ben Petrie), this thriller has a cool, stylish 1970s horror vibe. But some strange visions she sees lead her to even stranger events that are actually happening.

Where to watch: tremble

“Joe’s College Expedition”

The movie poem of Tyler Perry’s Madea widens the spotlight from the elderly woman to her equally energetic and misfit 82-year-old brother. Joe (Perry), a surly former prostitute who has a bit of a crush on you, goes on a road trip with his naive, nerdy grandson BJ (Jermaine Harris), helps out a young prostitute (Amber Reign), picks a fight with a racist, and digs into black history.

Where to watch: Netflix

“Predator: Badlands”

Get ready for an underdog “predator” story. Desperate to prove his worth, the alien warrior Deku (Demetrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a member of his clan, sets off into a dangerous world in search of an unkillable beast. Along the way, Deku befriends the android Tia (Elle Fanning) and takes part in a sci-fi adventure that offers some “alien” teases and an exciting cliffhanger.

Where to watch: Hulu

“Songsong Blue”

Kate Hudson is definitely nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, and Hugh Jackman is in full showman mode in this sentimental true-story drama. They play musicians who team up to form a popular Neil Diamond tribute act, and the icon’s songs inspire the couple as they must navigate personal tragedies and professional ups and downs.

Where to watch: peacock

“The SpongeBob Movie: Find Squarepants”

Good news: SpongeBob (voiced by Tom Kenny) is excited to wake up one morning and discover that he’s 36 shells tall. That means he’s finally a “big guy.” The bad news: He accidentally conjures up the ghost ship of the villainous pirate Flying Dutchman (Mark Hamill) in a family-friendly animated quest filled with courage and folly.

Where to watch: paramount+

“Rental Family”

Brendan Fraser exudes a caring, clumsy, and serious charm as an American expatriate who is unattractive as an actor in Japan. He begins working for a service that hires actors to stand in for their clients’ lives. This drama is a heartfelt drama that doubles as a moving look at found family and how we all deal with loneliness.

Where to watch: Hulu

“Sea urchin”

Harris Dickinson makes a confident directorial debut with this thoughtful British drama. A young homeless drug addict (Frank Dillane) is sent to prison for robbery, and upon his release, he works odd jobs to turn his life around, having just gotten sober. But even as he makes new friends, he falls back on old vices and finds it difficult to rein in his self-destructive tendencies.
