Welcome to November! While we wait for Turkey Day to arrive, streaming services are filling our digital boxes with new movies.

From a John Wick documentary to a new take on “Frankenstein,” there are plenty of movies available on your favorite streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, and Amazon’s Prime Video. Check out theatrical releases you may have missed, including the debut Marvel Fantastic Four movie, a romantic comedy starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans (who was starring in the Fantastic Four movies at the time). There are also originals, including a nostalgic 2000s holiday movie starring Chad Michael Murray.

“The Little Player’s Ballad”

Lord Doyle (Colin Farrell) gambles night after night in Macau in an attempt to live a luxurious life, but he continues to have bad luck. A casino employee (Fala Chen) provides financial and emotional support, and a private monitor (Tilda Swinton) hired by a European debtor comes on the phone, but in this neon-drenched thriller, Doyle may be too greedy for his own good.

“Downton Abbey: Grand Finale”

The popular British TV drama/movie series has come to an end, marking the end of an era. The film takes the Grantham family and their servants into the 1930s, where they face financial difficulties, a social scandal involving Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), and new roles and life changes. A must-see for fans since the beginning.

“Fantastic Four: First Steps”

Hallelujah! We finally have a great Fantastic Four movie, true believers. It’s also the most welcoming Marvel movie in far too long. This sci-fi/disaster movie starring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby is full of humor, heart, and high-stakes stakes, and Julia Garner’s The Silver Surfer is a joy to watch riding on those good vibes.

In director Guillermo del Toro’s thoughtful and moving adaptation of Mary Shelley’s legendary work, Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) creates life with a creature (Jacob Elordi) made from discarded human parts. Come enjoy the Gothic majesty and watch Elordi’s stunning and emotional performance as a creature trying to be human in an inhuman world.

“Bringing joy to the world”

Now that the spooky season is over, let the parade of cheesy Christmas movies begin! Joy (Emmanuel Chriqui), a best-selling novelist, is forced to have a holiday dinner at her home by a television crew. Needing a fake family, she asks her best friend Max (Chad Michael Murray) to play her husband. Romantic feelings and hijinks ensue.

“Jurassic World Rebirth”

The latest installment in the long-running Jurassic series tries something different by injecting a heist movie into the usual dangerous adventure. Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Oscar winner Mahershala Ali encounter a horde of mutated monsters on a mission to obtain dinosaur DNA for a shady businessman.

“Materialist”

This romantic comedy both embraces and deconstructs the genre, starring Dakota Johnson as an elite matchmaker who ignores her personal life. She finds herself in a love triangle with one of her clients, an investment banker (Pedro Pascal) who wants to date her more than anyone else, and her ex-boyfriend, a struggling actor (Chris Evans).

“Sorry, baby.”

Eva Victor wrote, directed, and stars in this funny and moving drama, playing Agnes, a college literature professor who still struggles with the psychological effects years after being sexually assaulted by her teacher. Now working in her old office, Agnes survives panic attacks and memory triggers with the help of her best friend (Naomi Ackie) and her adorable gray cat.

“Wick is Pain”

This documentary is a must-see for “John Wick” geeks and Keanu Reeves fans.
